PARIS: Novavision has firmed up a co-production deal with Sri Lanka’s MTV channel for 200 locally produced episodes of its new format The QuizZz, which will be launched to the Asian market at the upcoming ATF.

The QuizZz, filmed in black-and-white, features an actor miming an object, an idea, a place or a famous person, which the viewer must guess from a multi-choice question. The answer is revealed after the commercial break. Viewers can play for fun or to win prizes by sending text messages. All 200 episodes for the Sri Lankan MTV service have been produced in three languages: English, Sinhalese and Tamil.

Novavision has also unveiled a new addition to its catalogue, Pop Toons, a set of non-verbal cartoons. Pop Toons will be a highlight for Novavision at the Asia Television Forum (ATF), where it will be exhibiting at the TVFI umbrella stand.

Novavision will also present The Bubble Comedy Show, a series of 26-minute compilations of short, non-verbal comedy sketches from around the world. Thirteen episodes are currently in production.

“We are actively looking for this type of content from international producers and distributors, and we are hoping to find some gems at the upcoming Asia Television Forum in Singapore,” said Francois-Xavier Poirier, the president of Novavision.
